Orkla Foods International is a market leader in the confectionery, biscuits and snacks categories with well-known local brands and tastes that delight consumers in the Nordic and Baltic countries. Three companies form Orkla Foods International – MTR India, Felix Austria and and Orkla Foods Cescko a Slovensko – former Hamé and Vitana. At the recently concluded annual Orkla Growth Awards, Orkla International won the highest and most prestigious award at the ceremony – The Orkla Growth Prize – in recognition of the fantastic development that has happened in the last year.
According to the jury, the winners of the Orkla Growth Prize have demonstrated the ability to create strong top and bottom-line growth over the last STP-period. With strong local brands, Orkla Foods International has stolen market shares from global players such as Heinz. The company have shown agility to seize business opportunities and a positive approach to extend the Orkla portfolio into new markets and capitalize on a more value-creating production structure. And have initiated bold One-Orkla initiatives, such as introducing Möller’s and Laban in their respective markets, and several cross-production initiatives are on-going. In 2018, the top-line growth in this business area amounted to 5 % with a bottom-line growth of an impressive 9 %.
In its 19th year in 2019, the Orkla Growth Awards saw more than 200 nominations in eight categories out of which 41 finalists were selected. For the first time this year separate juries had been appointed to each category. The jury members consisted of Silje G. Johannesen, Mirjam Hamnen, Arve Heltne (chariman), Jens Staff, Karl Otto Tveter and Lars Fretheim.
