Mr. Nils Ragnar Kamsvåg - Ambassador
India is an important partner to Norway, where increased trade, investments and economic cooperation with mutual benefits are the topmost priority for our two countries.
On the business front, the number of Norwegian companies established in India has grown by more than 60% over the last five years. Over 100 Norwegian companies are now present in India. At the same time, Indian companies are getting large contracts in Norway.
The level of mutual interest was demonstrated during the recent visit of Norway’s Prime Minister Erna Solberg to India. She was accompanied by a delegation of around 140 representatives of Norwegian companies, the second-largest Norwegian business delegation ever. Norwegian investments in India are growing continuously. Norway’s Sovereign Wealth Fund holds around USD 12 billion in Indian-market listed assets. The scope of growth continues to be bigger and stronger.
The Norwegian Business Association (India) (NBAI) was established in 2013 with the aim to promote the bilateral relationship in the field of business and to promote business in general between both countries. Since its establishment, NBAI has played a key role in bringing relevant partners together.
I hope this new website will give you relevant insights into doing business together. I also wish the NBAI and all its members success in their endeavors!
