First India-Nordic summit to boost ties with 5 nations
The Prime Minister of India, Mr. Narendra Modi, is in Sweden to attend the India-Nordic Summit in Stockholm. This is the first ever joint meeting between the prime ministers of India, Norway, Sweden Denmark, Finland and Iceland.
For the Nordics, the meeting with Mr. Modi is a golden opportunity to intensify its trade relations to India’s $ 2.3 trillion economy. Nordic governments, including Norway recognize the potential importance that India can play in the next coming years. The three key areas on Modi`s agenda are innovation, technology and education; sectors in line with Norway’s competitive advantage and the work the Consulate General in Mumbai is currently working on, such as Marine and Maritime technology.
