Norwegian Embassy hosts meeting of the Norwegian Business Association (India)
The Norwegian Embassy, led by Ambassador Eivind Homme, hosted a board meeting of the Norwegian Business Association (India) at the Embassy in New Delhi Thursday 5th December 2013.
The gathering comprised of Board members of the Norwegian Business Association (India)- NBAI, partners from the European Business Group, as well as colleagues from the BoDs of the other Nordic Business Associations and Chambers. In addition, diplomats from the Norwegian Embassy and Commercial Counsellors from the Swedish, Finnish and Danish embassies attended.
In his introductory remarks, Ambassador Homme congratulated NBAI on the fast pace at which its activities were spreading in India and noted that it was eager to work together with its European and Nordic counterparts to be active partners of India in its ambitions for fast and inclusive economic growth. He introduced the NBAI president, Mr. Willy Praet who informed the audience of the goals and plans of NBAI and told them about what has been achieved so far.
The meeting, and evening reception at the Embassy was held with an objective to introduce NBAI as a new partner to the business community in Delhi.
Mr Pramath Sinha, Senior Director of Albright Stonebridge, delivered the guest speaker address and spoke on ‘The past, current and future political economy’, adding value to the NBAI’s aim to help its members, as well as other invited guests, understand the Indian business scenario.
Mr Sinha said in his address, “it is important to keep in mind, that India, despite its long history, as a business country is not more than 20 years of age. Also he added that experience shows that sectors where adequate regulations have been put in place have undergone tremendous changes in a very short period of time. He pointed to the telecom sector as a good example of that. Today’s youth of India is cyber adapt which makes a huge difference for them as individuals and for the prosperity of the country in general”.
