Supporting Norwegian Companies fulfilling CSR Responsibilities
The GAVI Alliance, one of the cornerstones of the Norwegian Government’s support to global health with about NOK 700 million annually, is exploring the introduction of a CSR Fund for Indian and foreign companies in India.
The Fund is especially targeting small and medium size enterprises to assist them in fulfilling the new Companies Bill and the upcoming CSR Bill, and at the same time, reducing the risks related to CSR schemes. Building on its successes and experiences as a public-private partnership, GAVI will assist in setting up the management modalities and structure of the Fund.
The Royal Norwegian Embassy in New Delhi is interested in exploring ways of supporting Norwegian companies working in India in fulfilling their CSR responsibilities. The GAVI Fund is thus an interesting vehicle, especially due to GAVI’s good results and innovative partnerships.
Next steps: GAVI will hold a series of presentations of the Fund in key Indian cities in the coming months. If your company finds this interesting, the NBAI Secretariat will link you up with the GAVI team.
The GAVI Alliance is a public-private global health partnership committed to increasing access to immunization. Launched in 2000, GAVI brings together developing country and donor governments, the vaccine industry, United Nations, civil society, research and private businesses. Being immunized through vaccination is one of modern medicine’s most powerful ways to save lives and prevent illness from serious and fatal infectious diseases.
