The event is focussed on the challenges and opportunities around responsible supply chain management.Europe has published a directive that encourages European countries to implement new legislations on human rights in business supply chains. At the same time, Norway recently passed a new legislation, the Transparency Act, which will come into force from July 1st 2022.

This legislation is enforcing Norwegian companies to have insight into every step of supply chains that is defined as high-risk in terms of human rights. This legislation will become applicable for subsidiaries of Norwegian companies even if 100 % of substantial business is transacted in India, with an increased ethical standard in terms of decent working conditions and human rights in the supply chain. Through this we focus on the legislation that presents opportunities which may lead to a competitive advantage in the European market in the future, and how to avoid non-compliance and potential impact on corporate reputation adversely.
