EVRY India hosted its 10th edition of ‘Tech Utsav’ – an annual technology showcase event on March 14th & 15th, 2019 at its new workplace – Global Village Tech Park, Bangalore.
The word Utsav, in Hindi – most widely spoken language of India – means ‘Festival’. So, Tech Utsav literally translates to ‘Tech Festival’, a symposium of technical accomplishments and investments made by EVRY India in emerging technologies.
Centered around the theme – “Imagine to Innovate”, this annual event provided an Open Innovation Platform, that fuel imagination and stimulates visualization from customers’ perspectives. This platform gave an amazing opportunity for employees to showcase their innovative ideas, concepts or any R&D activity worth sharing across the organization. Further these ideas were shaped to build Proof of Concept (PoC) using design thinking principles to address complex business problems. This helped employees to understand customer’s empathy, faced during various facets of business lifecycle. In this process, they also comprehended on re-defining problem context, design and testing protypes to arrive at innovative solutions.
Two-day event was packed with learning sessions, keynote addresses, panel discussions and interesting demos. The day was commenced by inauguration of new workplace by Executive members – Rajnish Mohan, Christian Pedersen & Malin Fors-Skjæveland. This occasion was graced by industry thought leaders, guests, partners and fellow workers.
Rajnish, CEO & Managing Director of EVRY India, launched the Tech Utsav using EVA – EVRY’s virtual assistant which is voice driven bot using Alexa device. This voice-based framework was a major crowd puller, keeping the event interesting and unique. This was followed by a thought-provoking keynote address delivered by Investor and Entrepreneur, Ravindra Krishnappa, on the topic of ‘Understanding and Applying Innovations’. Jayanth Kolla, founder of Convergence Catalyst, shared his perspective on emerging trends in the technology landscape.
The latter part of the day was spent in exploring the Tech-Solution exhibition. The exhibition featured top 16 demos which addressed some of the real-world problems across various industry sectors. These teams were shortlisted from the design thinking workshop based on various filtering criteria. The top teams presented demonstrations to customers, judges and delegates, focusing on emerging technologies such as Cloud, Machine Learning, IoT, Blockchain etc. Four interesting AR-Experiences were also featured in the exhibition.
During the event, EVA assisted employees by providing details on the solution demonstrations & digital community assets of EVRY India. Also, in-house Tech Utsav App built on progressive web application was launched for fun activities within the exhibition. Employees had a great time using this app by redeeming goodies, reviewing demos in different stalls and sharing their valuable feedback via scanner poster!
On the next day, Ramamohan- EVP – Chief strategy officer and Head of Business development hosted a discussion on ‘Co-Innovation in the New Normal’. Christian Pedersen, Pavi Chigateri, and Dr. Vinay Dabholkar as panelists brought in unique perspective with some very relevant examples from their individual experiences; explored the current and future models of ideation, engagement, and co-creation of solutions.
The closure of Tech Utsav 2019 was popular ‘Idea Pitch’ contest, judged from various perspectives of business, engineering and investment. Shortlisted teams from previous day’s exhibition pitched their ideas/solution to a panel of judges. The grand jury choose top 3 winners in the following order:
Med Motiv – who grabbed top spot in this event. This gamification app helps in reminding the patient to complete medicine course based on the prescription. The interactive solution is built in combination of deep learning and voice driven technologies.
FracHits Analysis secured second position by presenting the solution on detecting profitable oil wells, a cloud based analytical platform.
The third position was awarded to LogFACTS- a log pattern monitoring platform. The machine learning framework forecasts various pattern anomalies which may detect in different systems. The solution also provides instant notification to facility mangers in case of any failures.
A popular choice award was given to two teams: IntelliSearch – a smart search services to scan documents and Loan Advisor – a loan monitoring system to improve productivity of loan officer. The award was granted based on the solution uniqueness, simplicity and reach on social media platforms.
Tech Utsav 2019 was an excellent occasion to interact with EVRY’s clients and business partners sharing industry experiences, learning outcomes and covering highlights on industries embracing digital services. Innovations in different sectors was the highlighter of this event making it a huge success!
